Watch this space... more news soon.
2012: After a quiet winter it's time to get revved up and on the road. A chalet in France and two hotels in Wales need my attention. Sadly with these tough economic times I've lost two of my favourite clients... i hope things become more buoyant as we emerge into spring. Music update...try Pink Martini...perhaps an acquired taste - brilliant musicians for some reason relatively unknown.
Summer News:As always time has raced away and Le Tour is back on my mind. Having trashed a calf muscle...(trying to play tennis)....I'm not sure how much of the great event I'm going to be able to document this year. My mountain goat abilities will be limited but i hope to capture the extreme Col du Galibier climb in some form.... how i'd love to be in the tv helicopter.
I have several projects pending... whilst I wait for these to come to fruition I'v discovered the joy of antique restoration... some TLC and elbow grease and mutton turns to lamb...(not sure that's the right analogy..) happy days.
Many of you will know my music taste is somewhat eclectic... this summers recommendation is The Destroyers ... a theatrical sixteen man band assembled from around the world, poetry meets punk with a dash of folk.... and for the Cheltenham locals do try and see Swing from Paris.
Spring News:Welcome to my latest website (if you find any anomaly's let me know), for now you will see a random selection of images, much more to come soon. After more than fifteen years as a commercial photographer I have seen many changes... the obvious one being the demise of film, the 5x4 camera and polaroid proofing... sadly, my darkroom has long gone - I really do miss the tremendous buzz one got when fishing a print from the 'dev' fluid to find a 'Work of Art'.....or not!!
I now fully embrace the digital world. The future objective is to use the galleries to show the variety of work I cover, convince new clients they should commission me for their photography projects and to provide a viewing and I hope buying platform for the non commissioned projects I occasionally work on.
'Big fat gypsy wedding' is a much talked about ch4 documentary series, this has inspired me to get on and plan my next photographic book - a collection of shots gathered over past years - showing the life and characters found at fairs around Britain and Ireland. If time, I may also get an exhibition together to show during the Winchcombe Music Festival in May.
Meanwhile there are still a few copies of the limited edition 'Cheltenham Festival' 2010 racing book... (time to get on and create the next one.) To preview, visit: http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/1603759
